The Raiders 3-peated as JV Cup Champions in dramatic fashion. They started with a 2-1 win over Faith Christian to begin the day. They tied their second match 0-0 vs rival McCutcheon. The Raiders then tallied a convincing 3-0 win over North White to secure their spot in the championship game vs host West Lafayette. The Raiders dominated much of the first half, but WL sprung through on a counter attack and converted to take a 0-1 lead at the intermission. After some back and forth action, WL converted a second score off a corner kick. West Lafayette took a 0-2 lead with 20 minutes remaining in the contest. The Raiders kept pressing the action determined to breakthrough on the scoreboard. With just under 11 minutes to play, the Raiders were awarded a free kick from 20 yards out directly outside the box. Erik Chavez took a left-footed shot that the GK couldn't save and the ball hit the back of the net! The Raiders had pulled within 1. Less than 5 minutes later the Raiders were awarded a penalty after a foul in the box on WL. Erik Chavez once again stepped up and converted the all important game-tying pk! 2-2! The horn sounded when the clock hit zeros and the game tied 2-2. The contest went straight to PK's. Harrison GK Duncan Bowsher made a crazy save on the first kick by WL and sent the fans and players into a frenzy! Tied at 3 PK's each, West Lafayette's final pk taker stepped up and sent their shot over the crossbar. The game could be decided by Harrison's final pk taker, Ethan Peters. He calmly stepped up, placed the ball on the spot, referee blew his whistle, and Ethan approached the ball. The players and fans stormed the field in celebration as Ethan rattled the left side of the net and captured their 3rd straight JV Cup title. It was a fantastic way to end the 26' JV season! Congratulations fellas!
