The Harrison High School boys cross country team opened its season with an impressive third-place finish at the Brownsburg Invitational, scoring 62 points in a competitive field that included Brownsburg, Fishers, Brebeuf Jesuit and Danville. Junior Jacob Tilton led the Raiders with an outstanding runner-up finish, crossing the line in 12:38.60 for the 4K race. Senior Alex King followed with a strong 11th-place finish in 13:06.12. Harrison's depth proved to be a strength as Logan Breon finished 14th in 13:18.96, followed closely by Jango Lane in 17th at 13:23.98 and Morgen Weathers in 18th at 13:24.22. The five scorers finished within just 46 seconds of each other. The Raiders also received strong performances from first year runners Ryan Jordan (24th, 13:44.12) and Alexander Burgess (25th, 13:49.37), giving Harrison valuable depth behind its top five. With several runners returning from last season and a large group of young runners gaining valuable race experience, Harrison showed early signs of being a competitive team. The Raiders will look to build on the performance as the season progresses.
